SBMA , Mainly aims to provide protection to their environment and preserving natural resources and wildlife
Subic Watershed Forest reserve is noted for its high biodiversity and its endimism . This forest is a prioritized area of NIPAS .

The forest provides wide range if habitats and has a 745 plant species , 3 endangered , and others are threatened . White Luan , Apitong , Guijo , Palosapis and a rattan palm are most important specie that can only be found here and in Mt.Arayat .

Drive along jest camp , or cubi area and a beautiful view will be seen . Other natural attractions can be seen in SBMA . One of this are the large group of fruit bats roaming around upper cubi area , this places are very beautiful , yet a easy access to explore freely the forest of SBMA .

Isn't this great ? I hope this will last forever , Every living being must live on this world we know , so protect , care and preserve it , Love your Environment , BE PROUD OF IT

Nature , adventure !

Treetop Adventure , located in Jest Area , Cubi Point , Subic Bay Freeport Zone is a highly recommended tourist spot here in SBMA , yet safe , exciting and fun ! This is not a advertisment , cause our group ourselves experienced it .

Although heavy rain is dropping , efforts were done . Credits to him , A peak to tree top's view .

Cubi Point is located in forest , logically trees are everywhere . Small trees are called Bolong Eta Tree . While big trees used for zip line were more Sangilo , Alnus , Pine , Grandis , Molave and others .

This , My Friend is a smart way of using the environment , the trees is not harmed yet people are benefited , a great mutualism relationship . I hope someday , more people will experience this . I hope trees will stay forever , LOVE YOUR ENVIRONMENT , BE PROUD OF IT ! :))

SBMA sets ban to plastic , Fact or Fiction ?

As said to this particular news  http://www.businessmirror.com.ph/home/regions/23051-sbmasets-to-ban-plastic-styrofoam-in-subic  . ( Click link for Info ) As of February 9 , 2012 , SBMA plans to ban plastic , Styrofoam  as materials used for packing inside premises of SMBA .
As said by SBMA Chairman Roberto Garcia "From an overall environmental and economic perspectives the best thing SBMA can do is to require retail establishments to refrain from using plastic bags and Styrofoam, and shift to reusable nonplastic carry-out bags or biodegradable materials,”

This is a bothering news , As experienced , there is no change happening . Styrofoam are still all over SBMA , We taked photos of kalaklan river , beach side , and side walks . PLASTIC everywhere , No doubt that overflowing of river occurs .

Recently Taken photo of kalaklan river alongside SBMA gate , With heavy rain and strong winds , caused by the typhoon Jener , Plastics were stock at the other side of river .

Plastic may be useful , but it also destroys our environment . Be careful of using it , trash , mainly plastic causes blockage of drainage , causing floods . It causes pollution , in water , land even in air . It contributes a lot to the global warming we experiencing nowadays , burning plastics produce chemicals that helps deplete the ozone layer . They degrade very slow , it takes more than a hundred years to degradation . Instead of banning plastics , why don't recycle it for good use . ITS YOU TO DECIDE , IT IS A FACT ? or a FICTION ? Love your environment , BE PROUD OF IT !

SBMA , Today .

SBMA , which is known simply as Subic Bay , is the first Philipine naval base converted through a volunteerism .

It continues to protect its bay , through coast guards and maintenance , its sorrounding forest through ecology center and scouting police , its wildlife resources and its flora and fauna .

Or is it ? A trash along the bay .

Some places are , some places are not . It has a interesting sights as it resident eco-tourism theme parks , the only Philippine open sea marine park .

And other eco sites , Further most . The Pamulaklakin Nature Park , Which has been the home to indigenous Aetas who once trained the US navy in Jungle Survival Tactics .

Seems that our environment is really changing , why do people like us strive for more even though it destroys our environment , Aetas are contented , they are living like that for more than thousand years , Its because they cherish their tradition and their environment they live in . Love your Environment , BE PROUD OF IT !

SBMA expresses solicitude for Birds

Birds are precious beings found in this world , they signify freedom , love and integrity , it is a part of our nature . With merely 10,000 species , different birds are unique on its own way .

But here's the problem , most bird lives in nest , nest is found in trees , trees are everywhere , not literally cause some places has no trees .

This is what SBMA has been working out , 2007 , SBMA established Subic Bay Aviary and Bird Park located in Jest , upper Cubi . A place where almost 75+ species of birds are found . They provide home for birds , Merely 25 species are not found in Philippines , They vary in size , shape , color , beak , feather and behavior .

A Huge Cage for every specie , every cage contains 2 or more bird of the same kind . As of now , construction is still on going , providing more homes to bird .

A good thing to know about SBMA ,but what about forests ? By deforestation , kaingin , illegal logging and other harmful activities mankind do . What about home of the birds and other animals ? Habitat loss , overhunting , pollution and even constructional collisions kill birds ! Humans may expand few specie , but some specie experiencing population decrease , and even extinction . Are we going to wait for a world without a bird ? Or even worse . Love you Environment , BE PROUD OF IT !  

A simple community act

A simple clean up in a particular area , this may not be big , but at least we tried .

For us , this is a big help . A great way of showing that even a 2nd Year Student can do a lot to save our environment , we cherish it , we love it , CAUSE WE ARE PROUD OF IT !

Subic bay metropolitan authority ( SBMA ) , It is once a US naval facility , but now are industrial and tourist spot , and more employment opportunities .

It is a consistently growing free port , until now it is developing place .Today the SBMA continues to attract local and foreign investments for the socio-economic benefit of nearby local communities, as well as Central Luzon and the rest of the country, to sustain an investment-friendly and stable business environment and assist investors in setting up their businesses by providing quality services; to pursue the development of the Freeport not only as an investment site but also as a tourism destination; and to promote environmental protection amidst rapid development.

Tough Nut to Crack SBMA

A wonderful place wherein you can enjoy yourself .

SBMA is a perfect getaway that are unknowned yet known as the first Philippine free port , in the anticipation of the US naval base facilities .

For the people that lives in SBMA , the place is great for tourist . They have every establishment you want , malls , hotels , restaurants , entertainment and other natural tourist spot .
